Some challenges are chosen, others are forced upon us. For individuals with disabilities every single day is a test of resilience. As the newest and youngest board member of Fundashon Alton Paas, I am to work together to inspire, empower, and impact the lives of others.
As a senior project & policy officer at Human Rights Defense Curaçao (HRDC), I lead initiatives aimed at safeguarding human rights and promoting democratic values. My primary focus has been on the "Strengthening Protection Mechanisms for Venezuelan Refugees" project, where I successfully managed a substantial budget and achieve all performance targets. This led to a 100% satisfaction rate from donors, resulting in a project extension and ongoing collaboration for future initiatives. Key achievements include conducting capacity-building workshops for over 150 stakeholders on migration policies and human rights, enhancing community engagement and service delivery. I also directly educated vulnerable migrants through targeted programs, with more than 500 individuals receiving legal orientation and support, significantly improving access to essential services. Additionally, I advocated for policy changes with government and NGO partners, contributing to the development of two major policy recommendations aimed at improving legal pathways for migrants. As a transformational leader, I guide interns and manage team efficiency to achieve strategic goals, ensuring that our efforts effectively support the protection and promotion of human rights.

As a dedicated marketing professional, I was honored to serve JCI Dutch Caribbean for a year, focusing on enhancing the online presence of the National President during her tenure. Hired by the National President herself, I worked diligently to maximize her digital impact, crafting and executing strategies that amplified her message and influence across online platforms. With love and care, I ensured that every campaign and initiative not only reflected the values of JCI but also resonated with the community, fostering engagement and support for the organization's mission. My understanding of human behavior played a crucial role in this success. By leveraging insights into motivations, social influence, and emotional connections, I created content that authentically reflected the National President's vision and values, leading to more impactful and engaging online communications. I applied principles like personalization and cognitive biases to tailor messages that resonated deeply with our audience, enhancing relevance and appeal. Additionally, I fostered a sense of community by highlighting shared values and social identity, which inspired meaningful connections with her audience. This holistic approach not only elevated her digital presence but also helped her grow as a person, reflecting positively in all the content we created and posted. By combining marketing strategies with behavioral insights, I was able to drive significant engagement and support for JCI Dutch Caribbean's mission.
