About

I help therapists, social workers, and healthcare professionals recover from burnout by restoring capacity, not just teaching coping strategies. You work inside systems that run on understaffing, productivity quotas, emotional labor, and constant demand. If you’re still showing up but feel depleted, disconnected, and stretched beyond what’s sustainable, this is for you. You are the one people rely on. You care deeply. You’ve pushed through exhaustion, paperwork backlogs, insurance demands, and impossible caseloads because that’s what the job requires. But lately the cost feels too high. Emotionally drained. Physically worn down. Less patient. Less clear. Less like yourself. And the question you don’t say out loud keeps surfacing... How much longer can I keep doing this? I get it because I lived it. I’m Nancy Gallegos, a licensed psychotherapist and burnout recovery coach. After more than 20 years in community mental health, nonprofit systems, leadership roles, and private practice, my own burnout forced a turning point I could no longer ignore. Recovery did not come from a vacation. It did not come from productivity hacks. It did not come from surface level self-care. It came from rebuilding my nervous system capacity, redefining my relationship with work, and learning how to function without constantly overriding myself. That is the work I do now. MY APPROACH Burnout is not about resilience. It is about load exceeding capacity. My work focuses on: ➡️ Nervous system stabilization for clinicians in high-demand environments ➡️ Rebuilding cognitive, emotional, and physical capacity ➡️ Repairing over-functioning patterns and blurred boundaries ➡️ Creating sustainable structures that fit real-world clinical settings I work with therapists and social workers in hospitals, nonprofit agencies, community mental health, and private practice who want to stay in the work they care about without losing themselves in the process. My style is direct, practical, and grounded in lived experience. No vague wellness advice. No performative self-care. You do not have to leave your profession to feel like yourself again. Jan 2015 - Jan 2019 · 4 yrs 1 mo

I worked as a business mentor supporting therapists and social workers in translating their clinical expertise into ethical, values-aligned online coaching businesses. I guided professionals who wanted to reduce unsustainable caseloads, diversify income, and build careers that aligned with their skills and long-term goals, while navigating the practical realities of marketing, pricing, and offer creation. Scope of Work • Supported therapists and social workers transitioning into coaching roles • Provided strategic guidance on business foundations, messaging, and systems • Helped clients design offers that complemented, rather than replaced, their clinical work Outcomes • Many clients doubled monthly income while reducing caseloads • Coaching businesses were launched alongside existing therapy practices • Professionals reported increased confidence in business development and decision-making What this work revealed Through hundreds of conversations with mental health and social work professionals across the U.S. and internationally, a consistent pattern emerged: burnout and compassion fatigue were present regardless of income level, caseload size, or business success. This realization became a turning point in my work and ultimately led me to shift my focus toward burnout and capacity recovery for helping professionals working under chronic demand.
