Product Manager @ Newsela

Austin, Texas, United States

About

I am a Product Manager at Newsela, an online educational platform (and unicorn startup, valued at $1B+) which brings the best content to k-12 classrooms. My particular focus is strategic operations. I've held many roles at Newsela, allowing me to excel in understanding how products are built and how to drive user engagement and meet their needs. Prior to Newsela, I was a Project Manager @ Bridgewater Associates, the largest hedge fund in the world ($140B AUM), working on a fast-paced and complex Trading team. Prior to that, I was a middle and high school teacher in NYC through Teach For America (9% national acceptance rate). My professional background is in English and Economics; I also hold an advanced degree in Teaching from Fordham University in NYC. When I'm not helping to build the wonderful product that is Newsela, you can catch me going on adventures with my dog, indoor cycling, redecorating my home through DIY projects, or trying new recipes in my kitchen!
