An intelligent, detailed-oriented certified medical coder, who previously carried a 4.0 GPA, while earning degrees in Business and Computer Information Systems. Experienced with accounts receivable/payable and computer savvy - having no trouble learning new software. Already proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and a host of other email applications and their specialized features whether they be in Outlook, Gmail and other team communication applications, like Slack.
1. Research and resolution of coding projects as assigned. 2. Perform ongoing analysis of medical record charts for the appropriate coding compliance. 3. • Part of a team of volunteer coders that assigns ICD-10-CM and CPT codes to the medical records from a refugee camp on the US-Mexico border. • Many of the medical records are in Spanish and need to be translated before being coded. • Team fEMR and their partners use the coded data for research on the prevalence of Covid-19 and other conditions and will continue to be used for broader analyses
