As a current student at UCL, specializing in Applied Medical Sciences, my recent roles as a UCL Scholars and UCL Horizons mentor have cemented my core competencies in team leadership and communication. My experience includes mentoring secondary school students, leading online events, and providing valuable feedback in both literacy and mathematics. Our team's efforts at UCL focused on elevating the academic experience for young adults, empowering them with the knowledge and skills necessary for higher education. Through collaboration and effective communication, we enhanced student engagement and supported their journey towards university life, reflecting my commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments.
This role has involved me working with young adults in secondary school to mentor and give them advice regarding further education as well as supporting them with literacy. This involved me marking assignments and providing feedback, as well as participation and leading online live events.
This role involved working with young students in secondary school to support them with maths. Within this role, I gave feedback and help in maths, assessed their engagement and also gave advice about general university enquiries.
