My role at Bread Ahead is very much based on customer service and providing a high standard of customer service. My duties encompass greeting customers and tending to them from the moment they enter the cafe/restaurant till they leave, all the while providing service to the highest standard. This includes handling orders, payments, and complaints, and delivering food in a prompt and friendly manner. The role also involves maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organisation throughout the restaurant, including the bar, coffee machine, and back of house, as well as storage stations around the premises. The role is highly collaborative and working with my team is essential to maintain smooth operation and high standards of customer service together during high-volume rushes. As a restaurant within the tourist hotspot of Wembley, mere minutes from the iconic stadium, Bread Ahead faces weekly rushes of customers and liaising with fellow servers, counter staff, and kitchen staff, is essential to maintain smooth operation. Part of good customer service is swiftly and professionally addressing customer complaints and special needs, and escalating the issues with management when necessary.
