Bright Spark Program: ❖ This volunteer program involved an after-school learning club for newly arrived primary aged students from refugee backgrounds engaging children in academic, social, and recreational activities to support them to thrive in their new school and community. ❖ Worked as a team to create a positive learning environment, helping children to settle into the school and develop a love of learning Little Sparks Program: ❖ This volunteer program involved supervising the children aged 0-5, each week, making sure they are kept safe and well throughout the session; and engaging the children in play-based learning activities, e.g. colouring, craft, play dough, blocks etc. ❖ It also aimed to provide an opportunity for early learning for the children, and an introduction to the school environment Training course: ❖ Successfully attended five-hour training course on 31/03/2015 covering an Introduction to the St Vincent de Paul Society, Refugee Issues, Work Health and Safety, Child Protection, Teaching Tips, Behavior Management and SPARK Volunteer Policies and Procedures
