I graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree specialising in Microbiology (BSc Microbiology). In 2012 I began to pursue a second degree (Bachelor of Law) through the University of South Africa (UNISA), which I completed in 2018. In November 2019 I was formally admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa and in August 2021 I started my own law firm (NM Heinze Attorneys Inc) specialising in South African Immigration and related Litigation In addition to the above, I have 12+ years of experience in field of South African Immigration law and have obtained the professional designation of Immigration Practitioner IP(SA). I am also a member of the Forum of Immigration Practitioners of South Africa (FIPSA). Furthermore, I am also an Associate Member of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law (SAIIPL) and have completed all my Group 1 Patent Examination Board (PEB) subjects / exams and one Group 2 PEB subject / exam which consists of: - Group 1(a): Legal framework for the protection of intellectual property in South Africa, with a focus on trademarks, copyright, plant breeders’ rights and international treaties relevant to patent law; - Group 1(b): SA Patent Law and Practice; - Group 1(c): SA Design Law and Practice; and - Group 2(d): Selected international patent laws, systems, conventions and treaties.
• Immigration to South Africa: All categories of Temporary Residence Visas (TRV) and Permanent Residence Permits (PR), submissions thereof at any of the Visa Facilitation Service Centres (VFS) in South Africa as well as at the various South African Missions abroad; • Immigration: Other immigration matters including but not limited to: TRV and PR appeal applications, various waiver applications to waive Regulations of the Immigration Act No 13 of 2002 as amended, lifting of prohibition (prohibited person status), overstay applications to waive undesirability, good cause (Form 20) authorization letters; • Citizenship: South African citizenship through naturalization; • High Court litigations: Litigation and civil claims against the Department of Home Affairs (both contested and uncontested). Contempt of Court applications against the Department of Home Affairs; • Additional fields of law: Taxation, expungement of criminal records.
• Immigration: Consult with and assist private individuals and corporate companies (large and small) with all their immigration matters; • Immigration: Consult and assist clients with compiling and completing applications for all categories of Temporary Residence Visas (TRV) and Permanent Residence Permits (PR), submissions thereof at any of the Visa Facilitation Service Centres (VFS) in South Africa as well as at the various South African Missions abroad; • Immigration: Other immigration matters includ but are not limited to: TRV and PR appeal applications, various waiver applications to waive Regulations of the Immigration Act No 13 of 2002 as amended, lifting of prohibition (prohibited person status), overstay appeals to waive undesirability, good cause (Form 20) authorization letters; • Citizenship: South African citizenship through naturalization; • High Court litigations: Litigation and civil claims against the Department of Home Affairs (both contested and uncontested).
