• Producing project schedules taking account of contractual requirements, engineering, procurement, assembly and commissioning from internal and external sources • Carrying out effective and regular communication with vendors, external engineering services and clients to ensure successful design within an agreed budget and time • Reporting to senior management on project delivery, staffing and budget • Performing qualitative and quantitative risk analysis and critical path examination to identify schedule acceleration opportunities and mitigate risk • Organising technical risk workshops, mitigating risks and monitoring outstanding risks • Proactively contributing to lean manufacturing and management • Managing teams of up to 6 people on technical actions from initiation to completion
- Coordinating and reviewing the modelling and positioning of equipment (such as vessels, towers, etc.) in chemical plants to ensure space is allocated efficiently in terms of piping, mechanical and structural engineering - Managing designers and preparing the projects schedule & costs reports - Building effective project teams and foster a strong collaborative culture with the client, internally and with suppliers
Main responsibilities include: - Structural design analyses for steel structures using hand calculations and finite element modelling software - Load assessments of new and existing structures, incl. structural reports - Estimating material, construction, and labour costs, project schedule - Preparing sketches, marking-up drawings and writing specifications - Supporting graduate engineers in their professional development
Part-time alongside final year studies at university • Maintaining 3D programmable parametric models in SolidWorks and assisting in the preparation of process safety and EHS documentation
