AFC Leuven, short for Academics For Companies, is a junior enterprise based in Leuven with a mission to develop skills and to foster entrepreneurship amongst students. This is done in three pillars: Events, Workshops, and Experience. AFC’s activities aim to close the gap between an academic education and the professional career of a student by bringing these students in contact with interesting companies and as well by supporting them to develop useful but unattended skills necessary in the work field. As vice president, I am responsible for back-office activities such as human resources, finance & legal, IT, process & quality. I will act as a bridge between these departments and the three pillars not only to make sure both work together as a unit but also to realize synergies. In cooperation with the president of our organization, I am responsible for defining and overseeing the implementation of both short term and long term strategic decisions. Moreover, I am responsible for the expansion of AFC towards other student cities in Belgium.
