MYRA VIDES found her niche as a photographer after spending decades in front of and behind the camera lens as a runway model & then as a professional wardrobe stylist represented by Dean Factor, founder of Smashbox Studios. Those experiences led Myra to find her niche as a photographer in her community in Pacific Palisades, CA. Myra's work is known for its spontaneity and freshness, bringing out the essential, yet often hidden, nature of her subjects. She is able to work in a variety of situations & this flexibility enables her to capture otherwise inaccessible moments. Myra has an innate ability to capture elements of a subject’s personality not easily revealed publicly. Her work has an element of heart. Her humble confidence allows her subjects to unwind comfortably. It is clear to the viewer's eye that every aspect of Vides life experiences contributes to the richness of her photos. Myra has traveled extensively around the globe has lived in Paris, New York & L.A. Myra has a passion for leading an extraordinary life! She has enjoyed living in teepees in Arizona with a Native American tribe, riding dirt bikes through Africa's Makgadikgadi Pans, walking runways in Paris fashion shows, been featured in one of Madonna's music video, and enjoys many other once-in-a-lifetime experiences. In 2008 Myra was invited to participate in an artistic photography exhibit alongside Dennis Hopper, Douglas Kirkland, Herman Leonard, just to name a few. A book was published on the group exhibit. The sales benefited the Aftermath Project's international documentary program, which chronicles the reconstruction of war-weather torn regions around the world.
