Principal for consultancy practice includes the following: Assessment of food ingredient for self-determined GRAS positions; safety evaluations of new and existing food ingredients and recommendations for possible testing for FDA and JECFA; Preparation of drug/excipient master files, safety evaluation of pharmaceutical excipients and design of appropriate testing programs; Resolve technical questions with regulatory agencies, prepare risk assessments, toxicology study waiver requests, complete and review dossiers and summaries for REACH, EPA FIFRA and the EU Biocides Product Directive; Review toxicology data for a variety of chemicals and food additives; develop strategies for product defense and toxicology testing.
I spent 29 years at FMC Corporation as a toxicologist, manager and research fellow. My work involved supporting a wide variety of chemical products for US and EU registrations, product development work on new products, safety and risk assessments, publications, trade association activity (ILSI, CEFIC, Pyrethroid Working Group, CMA).
