Convinced the team to use ElasticSearch for this product and architected the data pipelines and backend services. • Carbon Emissions: Researched & implemented Carbon Estimation methodologies like DEFRA, ICAO, TREMOD. For ICAO, which estimates carbon consumption for a flight, I was able to improve the accuracy of the estimates significantly by using carrier information available with TripActions bookings database. • Company Office Migration: Helped in migrating the existing structure of Company offices to a more flexible and user friendly structure. This involved designing and implementing the new structure, migration of code from old to new use case, backfilling of data, user migration etc.

I work with the Transact Cluster at Flipkart that handles customer experience from Cart to Checkout, Payments, Refunds and Order Management. I have worked with Flash Sales, Wallet, Cart and Refund Services within this cluster. Flash Sales (Reservation) Service: * Designed, implemented and maintained a service built to handle high QPS Flash Sales. * Redis as the data store to achieve high throughput. * Apache Storm to implement all backend and non-user path operations. * Scaled the service and backend infra to 20K+ write requests per second. * Service has been used to power various high visibility flash sales run by Flipkart. * Project showcased in Flipkart SpotLight 2016 event. Refund Service: * Re-designed and migrated Refund Service from Ruby to Java. * Implemented and Tested the complex refund flows. * Ensured smooth transition from old to new service without impacting business. * Service is now responsible for all customer refunds from Flipkart.
