Born and raised in Pakistan, he pursued his higher education abroad and earned his PhD in medical education from the University of New South Wales in Australia. He has over 25 years of experience in providing educational and clinical services in Asia, Europe, and Africa. Prof. Shamim has been an international faculty of the Primary Trauma Care (PTC) Foundation, UK, and is widely recognised as a health professions educationist with expertise in curriculum management, teaching and learning strategies, and bioethics education. He has designed and conducted over 200 faculty training workshops in various parts of the world, helping to develop educators' knowledge, skills, and attitudes and to improve the quality of health professions education and delivery. He has also contributed significantly to medical research, with more than 60 papers published in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and a training manual for healthcare providers. Prof. Shamim has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to providing quality healthcare services and developing health professions education. His dedication and passion for his work have made him a respected leader in his field and an inspiration to his colleagues and students.
