· Conduct daily inspections of civil works including excavation, backfilling, concrete structures, formwork, reinforcement, and casting, ensuring full compliance with QCS 2014 and approved project specifications. · Supervise installation of multi-utility networks such as surface water, stormwater, process water, foul sewage, child water, potable water, and telecommunication (F.O.C.), verifying alignment, depth, material quality, and joint integrity. · Inspect pipe laying operations using DI, GRP, UPVC, and RC systems, including deep shafts, miscounelling, box culverts, and trenchless installations. · Review and validate method statements, ITPs, material submittals, and shop drawings prior to execution, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and technical standards. · Oversee third-party testing activities for soil, concrete, and asphalt, ensuring proper sampling, witnessing, and documentation in accordance with project tolerances and international standards. · Monitor waterproofing works including geomembrane, geotextile, and geocomposite installations, with attention to seam welding, cushioning layers, and QCS Section 6 compliance. · Verify construction of reinforced concrete tanks, pump stations, screen shafts, and other STP structures, ensuring dimensional accuracy, concrete quality, and curing procedures. · Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inspection reports summarizing progress, compliance status, and key observations, using structured formats aligned with consultant and client requirements. · Ensure safe execution of works under live conditions, confined spaces, and deep excavations, adhering to site safety protocols and environmental controls.
The Irrigation Canals Concrete Lining and Infrastructure Improvement Project initiated by the Irrigation Department of Sindh aims to modernize the region's irrigation network by reconstructing and concrete-lining existing canals and their branches. This initiative will enhance water conveyance efficiency, minimize seepage, and optimize water distribution for agricultural lands. Key activities include the removal of existing earthen linings, thorough base preparation, and the application of high-strength concrete to main canals and branch canals, ensuring long-term durability and reduced maintenance costs. The project also encompasses the construction of sluice gates, check structures, and drainage systems to regulate water flow and mitigate flooding. This comprehensive infrastructure upgrade will foster improved agricultural productivity, water conservation, and sustainable farming practices across the region, thereby contributing to long-term economic stability and environmental sustainability.
