I am a Neurosurgery resident with a CRUK-funded PhD, subspecialty interests in neurosurgical oncology and spinal surgery, and a passion for patient-centred research and clinical trials. I graduated with Honours and hold an additional Masters with Distinction as well as active ECFMG certification (passed USMLE STEPs 1-3). My research focus spans neurosurgical oncology and general neurosurgery, built through competitive NIHR and CRUK funded clinical/academic posts. During my PhD, I helped set up the first-in-human trial of neoadjuvant radiotherapy for newly diagnosed glioblastoma, as a co-investigator. To date I have authored 50+ PubMed-indexed papers and multiple book chapters, with work recognised by the British Neuro-Oncology Society (BNOS), Society of British Neurological Surgeons (SBNS), The Royal College of Surgeons of England, The Medical Defence Union (MDU) and The Manchester Medical Society. Alongside research, I've played a leading role in several organisations: founding president of my medical school's neuroscience society, Vice-Chair of the UK National Neurology and Neurosurgery Interest Group (NANSIG), and Chair of the British Neurosurgical Trainees Research Collaborative (BNTRC).
