I am a senior technology, innovation, and growth capital leader with over 35 years of experience operating at the intersection of advanced technology, global business creation, and international investment. My career spans corporate venturing, new business creation, and large-scale growth capital facilitation across Europe, China, Asia-Pacific, the US, and the Middle East. I have held executive leadership roles at Nokia, founded and led multiple companies, and finally head Growth Capital and Investor Services at Business Finland. Across these roles, I have contributed to more than €650M in cross-border investments into Finnish growth and scale-up companies. I have built and scaled international venturing and investment platforms, including Dealflow.fi, an automated investor–company matching service now enhanced with AI and machine learning capabilities. Earlier in my career, I helped establish Nokia Ventures Organization in Asia, led internal start-ups and product launches, and co-founded the Finland–China Innovation Center in Shanghai. My background combines deep technology expertise—telecommunications, AI/ML, fintech, digital platforms, privacy, and user experience—with strong commercial and public-sector collaboration experience. I am an inventor on approximately 50 patents and patent applications, including foundational work in GSM speech coding, mobile services, NFC-related concepts, and digital privacy. Developed, scaled and led Finland’s national Growth Capital and Investor Services operations across Nordics, UK, UAE, US, Japan, and Korea. - Designed and launched Dealflow.fi, an automated self-service investment platform connecting global investors with Finnish growth companies. - Introduced AI and machine learning capabilities to improve deal matching and investor targeting. - Facilitated €350M+ in investments into Finnish scale-ups. Created Planago Personal Finance platform. Planago Personal Finance Platform and its technical architecture make it easy to create various financial planning, financial education and financial gaming solutions. Planago Platform components enable easy integration into external solutions. This can be used in games, in educational services or in branded services for media and the financial sector. Real life financial simulation and calculations offered by Planago make it easy to develop completely new service concepts that mirror real life situations. MoneyFlowChallenge is an educational game teaching Personal Finance was developed on Planago platform.
Golden Bridge (CFGB China Finland Golden Bridge) was a service platform for Chinese high-tech companies willing to invest in research and development activity and in market expansion through Finland to access European markets. Golden Bridge served also China related VCs and PEs in finding hot investment targets from Finland. We facilitated €300M+ in investments into Finnish scale-ups. Golden Bridge was acquired by Finpro in April 2015 and Finpro was renamed to Business Finland 2018.
Investor and partner 2007-2014 VP Business development, GM APAC 2007-2009 My role included establishment of Idean subsidiaries in Shanghai and Hong Kong. - Building strategic customer relationships with companies like Huawei, ZTE, and Alibaba. - I Co-developed and patented new user interface concepts for touch devices. Idean is a unique user centric design company. Idean provides customer-driven user interface design, holistic research, market analysis and innovation services Including mobile applications, concepts, websites, integrated systems, UI specifications, top-notch code – all from under the same roof, by the same team.
