With over three decades of experience across sectors such as FMCG, telecom, engineering, education, healthcare, and the social sector, a consistent focus has been on aligning people practices with business priorities to enable performance, culture, and long-term growth. This journey has spanned diverse contexts—ranging from high-growth organizations to complex unionized environments—allowing for a nuanced understanding of both strategic and operational levers in HR. Contributions in the social sector, particularly in education and healthcare, have included leading teacher engagement and performance-linked reward initiatives, as well as designing patient care–focused people strategies. In healthcare, HR interventions were closely tied to improving care outcomes, with initiatives such as enhanced nursing engagement and performance alignment supporting better patient experiences. In education, efforts focused on building institutional capability through assessment tools, skill centre development, and action-driven engagement programs. Work has often centered on driving HR ROI—whether through performance management systems, compensation design, or HR digitization—always with the intent of creating measurable impact. A collaborative approach to leadership coaching, industrial relations, and organization-wide transformation has shaped outcomes that balance business needs with people-centric values.

In 2012, when Educomp—where I was leading HR—went through a major downturn, I found myself at a professional crossroads. What began as a brief period of freelance consulting soon evolved into something larger — the founding of People Maths Consultancy Services (PMCS), almost by default rather than by design. PMCS became a strategic HR consulting firm that helped organizations strengthen their people and performance levers. We focused on four key areas: HR ROI, Capability Development & Capacity Building, Talent Management, and HR On-Call Services. Over time, we also carved a niche in the education sector, creating proprietary tools to enhance faculty engagement and productivity. Alongside PMCS, I was empanelled with Harvard Business Publishing as a facilitator, conducting programs on Team Management, Business Case Presentation, and Crisis Management. I also served as a visiting faculty at MDI Gurgaon and School of Inspired Leadership (SOIL), teaching courses in Performance Management, Organizational Effectiveness, and Compensation & Benefits. What started as a stopgap turned into a deeply fulfilling chapter — one that broadened my perspective on how HR can bridge business strategy and human potential.
