A seasoned professional, mining company executive and Chartered Engineer with 40 years of international mining experience, including executive roles in a London listed junior; operating roles in Africa, Australia and Europe; 16 years in international consulting and as Director of the UK wing of an international consulting firm; and an experienced project manager with a track record in feasibility and engineering studies, project development, technical reviews, project and financial evaluations, strategic planning, mine expansions construction management, and project due diligence over a wide range of commodities and jurisdictions including base-metals, gold, and diamonds, in Africa, Australia, North America, South America, Europe and Russia / CIS. Six years experience as CEO and Director of public junior mining companies listed on AIM and TSXV exchanges. Previously seven years as Project Manager and Projects Director with Lundin Mining responsible for developing a range of strategic medium and long-term brownfield growth initiatives at Lundin’s operations in Portugal and Chile, overseeing a number of project managers and local management and multi-disciplinary technical teams, including tailings and environmental studies and permitting initiatives. Strong experience in brownfield mine expansion projects. Former Technical Director / Chief Operating Officer for a Russian resource company developing large greenfield zinc projects in Russia, responsible for local technical teams, and owner’s representative for a Feasibility Study within an international joint venture. Operating and consulting experience in a wide range of commodities including base-metals, gold, and diamonds, in Africa, Australia, North America, South America, Europe and Russia / CIS. Also a recognised specialist in mining rock mechanics and underground mine design, with extensive experience in a wide range of mining methods and geological environments, including many years involvement in caving and longhole/sublevel stoping methods of mining.
