    Local Roads Unit (2019 - Present) --- Project Engineer: The Highway Design-Local Roads section is responsible for overseeing a variety of federal and state-funded improvements on town-owned roadways that are designed by municipal staff or consultants retained by the municipality. During the design process we oversee coordination with external agencies and Department support units. My main focus is administering the Local Transportation Capitol Improvement Program (LOTCIP) grant applications as well as administering OPM STEAP (Small Town Economic Assistance Program) grants related to transportation infrastructure assigned to CT DOT. State Highway Design Unit (2007-2011, 2015-2019) --- Design Engineer: Design of Transportation improvements on State roadways. Responsibilities include the use of CADD and engineering tools for storm sewer analysis and design, complex engineering computations, roadway geometry review and design, design of plans, profiles, cross sections, and construction staging, design of culvert rehabilitation plans, site design, water handling, erosion control, quantity and cost estimates, ROW impact review, calendar day estimates, environmental permitting, construction change orders, and the preparation of presentation materials, scope review documents, contract documents, construction specifications, and correspondence. Coordination with utility companies and town engineers. Review and incorporation of support unit submittals (Traffic, Illumination, Maintenance, Pavements, Soils, Bridge, Rights of Way, Surveys, Hydraulics, Landscaping, Environmental). Project experience includes intersection improvements, roadway widening, resurfacing, streetscape improvements, horizontal and vertical realignment, culvert replacements and rehabilitations, traffic calming, roundabout improvements, drainage improvements, sedimentation basins, bridge replacements, utility relocations, and multi-use trails.
