As a Synthetic Flight Instructor at KLM, I am responsible for training and developing professional pilots in the full flight simulator environment. My focus is on enhancing technical flying skills, decision-making under pressure, and promoting a strong safety culture. I work with both aspiring and experienced pilots during type ratings, recurrent training, and upset recovery training (URT), using scenario-based training techniques and structured models such as the DA-model (Didactic-analysis) and ORCA (Observe – Record – Classify – Assess). This role requires a combination of in-depth aviation knowledge, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous development — both in the cockpit and beyond. I take pride in creating impactful, real-world training experiences that prepare pilots for the dynamic and demanding environment of commercial aviation.
Delivering tailored human factors training to individual pilots, ranging from initial familiarization flights in the simulator to advanced multi-crew environment training. I support pilots through assessment preparation and foster essential crew resource management skills that improve safety and performance in every phase of their aviation career.
