An accomplished Chief Data Officer (CDO), Morne Bosch-Serfontein owns an extensive 15+ year career leading the design of robust data management systems, data architecture, data governance, and analytics infrastructures that facilitate secure collection and processing of data and champion enhancements across all organisational levels / functions. After being the Chief Data Officer / Chief Information & Insights Officer at MultiChoice, Morne has recently joined Old Mutual bank heading up the data chapter. Morne enjoys full responsibility for enterprise-wide data and information strategy, governance, control, policy development, and effective exploitation to drive business decisions and growth. As the Data Chapter Lead I work with the various squads within the bank to pursue adherence to data standards, produce use cases which will take advantage of our data platform capabilities, as well driving pro-active rollout of data capabilities to meet business demand. Scope: • Strategy and Context Setting for data across the bank • Works with Tribe Lead to understand strategy, Chapter Objectives, budgets and risks. • Translates the strategy into the key objectives of the chapter • Works on the strategy and CSFs of the Squad and how that translates into the key objectives of the Chapter • Ensure the critical Success Factors for the chapter are built into the Sprint Planning process of the Squad • The chapter lead formally works with Tribe leads, Other Chapter leads & team members to create and present standards to the PO and other team members to evaluate and agree • Chapter Lead manages quality by equipping the chapter members to carry the standards into the squad & has the ability to measure deviations and recommend/build remediations. • These standards relate to e.g. Documentation, Governance, Ways of Work, Architecture, Software Engineering, Quality Testing, Data Standards, APIs and critical success factors-These are functional and non-functional activities. • Builds common tools shared by squads & standardising ways of working
Develop, and provide leadership to the consolidated team that establishes, delivers and supports all the organizations business information requirements; including all Research, Analytics, Audience and Customer Measures, Enterprise Information Management, Data Governance and Business Intelligence services. Provide strategic input, based on research, predictive analytics and integrated data intelligence into Executive funding and buying decisions for MultiChoice Group (South Africa and Rest of Africa) • Define the strategy & plan for the information management service • Manage the delivery of the information management strategy & plan to all stakeholders, including Big Data, AI and Machine Learning • Define and deliver the policy for management of all business information • Be the steward for all business information • Manage the integrity, accuracy (cleansing) and timeliness of all business information • Define and deliver the Business Information architecture/structure, storage, security and delivery/access/extraction of all business information • Manage the delivery; including insights, enrichment/enhancement and prediction/derived Analytics Services to meet business requirements • Delivery of daily, weekly, monthly and annual business information packs • Manage the delivery of all content, customer, product and market Research Services to meet business requirements; including the DStv viewership panel research service • Being the expert with respect to emerging information management tools and methods, research methods and approaches and business intelligence tools, towards continuously improved business information services • Inform revenue models based on data insights - help identify which revenue source to pursue. • Manage the Information Management budget • Brief the organization on the Information Management strategy and progress of delivery at regular intervals in meeting the business demands for information
