The Japan/U.S. E.S. Morse Scholar Exchange Program sponsored 10 students from the United States to take part in the 2017 Open Practical Course held at the Misaki Marine Biological Station (University of Tokyo). Scholars engaged in the following projects during the program: - Observation of early development of a sea urchin and reporter assay. - Observation of intracellular Calcium oscillation at fertilization, and sperm chemotaxis. - Histological observation of regenerating feather star tissue. - Comparative developmental biology of marine organisms. - Molecular phylogeny of marine organisms.
