Molly Hagerty is an actor, singer, dancer, and writer originally from Bangor, Maine. Currently receiving her BFA in Musical Theatre at Ball State University, she is now based in Muncie, Indiana the majority of the year. After a brief period of time as a student based in New York City, Molly made the personal and artistic decision to seek her education in a more academically focused environment, and Ball State felt like just the place to do this. Molly has been training in voice for 12 years, working under Tina Burns, Kathy Logelin, and Johnna Tavianini. She has dance training including styles such as ballet, jazz, musical theatre, tap, and commercial under Anne Beck, Kenny Shepard, and Molly Garner. Molly has a plethora of acting training, with her time prior to Ball State spent training at Maine Arts Academy, Stagedoor Manor, and Musical Theatre College Auditions masterclasses and coachings. Molly now trains under Kathy Logelin, Karen Kessler, Matthew Reeder, Eva Patton, and Veronica Santoyo, with work in Meisner, Strasberg, Stanislavski, Hagen, Grotowski, and Linklater voice techniques. Molly also trains in Shakespeare and heightened text work under Kathy Logelin. Molly is a queer actor and advocate of female written, produced, and performed works. As an artist, her goal is to constantly be cultivating and joining safe female and queer-driven spaces with goals to bring women's voices and stories through their art. Molly has most recently been seen in Ball State University’s Kinky Boots as Nicola, and Language of Angels as Celie. Molly can also be seen in their upcoming production of Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812. Molly is a previous Principal Company member at Penobscot Theatre Company, and a member of both Ball State Department of Theatre and Dance’s Student Production Committee, and Student Advisory Committee. For her future artistic career aspirations, Molly hopes to continue creating art that makes people feel heard, seen, and understood.
