It carries great responsibility in regards to ensuring that aircraft arrive and depart safely as well as on time. This role carries great responsibility and I have to ensure that no mistakes are made as the consequences can be quite severe. Some of the roles I carry out: • Assign tasks for the Ramp Agents under my lead to complete. • Inspect the aircraft for any damage and physically check each cargo compartments to locate bags/ anything that shouldn't be there. • Communicate to the Dispatcher/ Flight Crew if required. • Load the aircraft in accordance with the LIR provided as well as any special instructions given by the flight deck. • Remain with the plane from the beggining to the end and ensure the plane is fully ready to be pushed back (This includes making sure all hatches, latches, doors are closed, ground equipment is removed, bypass pin is installed and tug and bar is connected ready for push). • Deal with any queries from my team in a calm and positive manner.

Located behind Akaash restaurant, within the Westex Carpets complex in Cleckheaton, I worked at clam engineering. An engineering firm specialised in manufacturing and fabrication. The factory produced rollers and spare machine parts among a variety of other things. During my time working here I did a range of different things from painting to operating the heavy machinery such as lathes, pillar drills and grinders. I also did a bit of welding. I lifted heavy pieces of metal and moved it across the factory as well as identifying and packing different tools into their correct storage crates. I picked up a variety of different skills here and have mastered techniques that will help me for a lifetime. I carried out a range of different jobs here, for example: •Using the lathes, Angle Grinders, Pillar Drills, Mig Welder. •Transported different pieces of metal around the factory. •Mig welded some cut box section pieces to make sturdy wall brackets to place on the walls of the workplace. •Coated metal with red oxide and painted over them once they dried. •Packed some orders into crates ready to be sent to the clients. •Using the angle grinder, I cut long steel rods to size. •I often helped clean the workplace and tidy up the tools •Correctly identify different drill bits and equipment required for the fabrication/manufacturing role. •Packed tools, products into storage crates to be stored in dry storage •I discarded unwanted metal/ products into the correct metal recycling skip
