As a North Carolina native, I've built a career spanning three decades in leadership and sales roles across government and corporate sectors. Throughout this journey, I've honed robust leadership and interpersonal skills, mastering a balance of authority, diplomacy, and tact. My professional career is enriched by a strong foundation in organizational planning and business development across urban and regional landscapes. I approach organizational growth through a lens of functional development, emphasizing project management alongside diverse teams. Beyond leveraging internal resources, I strongly advocate for seamless communication across platforms, harnessing the collective resources of multiple agencies to foster robust relationships and ensure successful contract execution.
Since being in New Hanover County, I have set myself apart by the ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while driven by new challenges. My established leadership record exhibits skills in diplomacy and political insight within the community and positive relationships with our legislatures and stakeholders.
While at MicroVote, I worked independently for the corporate office in regional sales for government agencies in Tennessee and the Carolinas. My responsibilities included, lobbying state and local legislatures to award procurement to multiple companies for capital equipment while maintaining business amid fierce national competition. As a technical writer I prepared RFP procurement responses for state acquisition of certified electronic voting equipment.
