I Participated in an Internship program at the Engineering Division of Sri Lankan Airlines. I had the opportunity to work in various departments, gaining valuable hands-on experience. In the first week, I was placed at the Airport and Ground Services office. Subsequently, I moved to the engineering department, where I spent a week in Engineering Planning. I then transitioned to Production Planning for four weeks, where I was involved in; Hangar tool crib project, NDT tool certificate project, Creating a certificate for Equipment for Alternate tools for EI. During my time in production planning, I visited several sections, including; Hangar Tool crib, Tool Management, NDT Shop, Calibration Lab (was there during calibration of Torque wrenches, Pressure gauges, Torque screwdrivers, and dimensional calibrations), Planning Dock, Unserviceable unit, CCU at the hangar, I also participated in several hangar visits to observe maintenance procedures for both UL and third-party aircraft. In the last month of my internship, I rotated through various workshops, spending a week in each. These workshops included; Engine Module Workshop (was able to get a clear idea about Rolls Royce Trent 700, CFM Leap A1 and V2500 engines. Was able to assist in an inventory check of the V2500-A5 engine), Structures Workshop (was there during a structural repair of an engine cowl lip and RH slat), Seat and Fabric Workshop, Avionics Radio Workshop. Additionally, I had the opportunity to learn how to schedule maintenance using the AMOS software under the supervision of an engineer in Engineering Planning.
