Kinderen en jongeren hebben het recht op toegang tot gezondheidszorg, goed onderwijs, een veilige leefomgeving en een zelfstandige toekomst. Ik draag zowel in mijn werk als prive hier graag aan bij. Children and youth have the right to access health care, good education, a safe living environment and an independent future. I enjoy contributing to this both in my work and private life. Stichting Weeshuis der Doopsgezinden is een Haarlems vermogensfonds dat voortkomt uit het oorspronkelijke weeshuis dat in 1634 werd opgericht. Nadat het weeshuis in de 20ste eeuw haar deuren sloot, werd er een stichting opgericht die vanuit de opbrengsten van het vermogen bijdragen verstrekt aan sociale projecten voor kinderen en jongeren in binnen- en buitenland. The Innovate for Life Fund supports African entrepreneurs in the development of innovative, sustainable and scalable solutions for a healthy Africa. The fund specifically focuses on the ‘missing middle’ – growing entrepreneurs whose enterprises are too large for microcredit, but (as yet) too small for traditional commercial investors. Via Amref Health Africa these entrepreneurs will have access to detailed knowledge about healthcare in Africa and access to Amref’s extensive local and international network of stakeholders, donors, and investors. www.innovate4lifefund.com
Dr.One is a concept developed by the social venture Drones for Development in partnership with the UNFPA, The Ghana Health Service, IDI Snowmobile and the National Aerospace Laboratory of the Netherlands. Dr.One systems are small unmanned aircraft systems able to transport medicines, vaccines, blood packs from hospitals to health post locations. AMREF Nederland bestrijdt armoede door kwetsbare groepen in Afrika toegang te geven tot zorg en ze in staat te stellen het recht op gezondheid in eigen hand te nemen. AMREF Nederland ondersteunt vooral programma's die zich richten op de gezondheid van moeder en kind. Kinderen onder de 5 jaar die geen moeder meer hebben lopen in Afrika een tien keer zo grote kans om te overlijden!
