Ambulatory Surgery Center; Pain management & orthopedic outpatient surgery Clerical: - Organize and audit charts via ScanChart program - Perform patient record scanning & indexing; purge records after thorough quality checks according to company policy - Post payments to the accounting system and organize deposit batches - Maintain digital records and confidential patient information - Send out monthly invoices/statements via mail - Fulfill requests for medical records by compiling all necessary documents - Assist medical biller by posting notes on patients’ accounts following payments - Answer calls and forward patients and caretakers to nurses for pre/post op calls - Fax lab results to physicians’ offices Clinical: - Assist nurses in PACU (post-anesthesia care unit) with patient ambulation and discharge - Take vitals, dress patients, provide snacks in recovery - Sanitize beds and prepare them for transport to the pre-op/operating room - Make calls to patients’ family members to coordinate discharge
- Shadowing & assisting at a residential treatment facility for psychiatric care - Interviewed patients and obtained HPI - Built rapport while conducting a mental status exam - Performed cardiac, respiratory, and cranial nerves (neuro) exams
