Project: Structural Alterations and Additions works at 51/F, 52/F, 55/F to 57/F, ICC, 1 Austin Road West, Kowloon, Hong Kong - Coordination of the project team, arrange the transportation to deliver the construction materials, measure the quantity of construction materials required. - Acting as a Technical Competent Person - T1; performing full time on-site supervision, daily safety inspections and inspect workmanship compliance to drawings and local legislation. - Provided method statement and risk assessment analysis for the demolition and reinforced concrete works. - Prepared the design calculation of the formwork and temporary support system for the reinforced concrete works.
Project: Academic building at No.3 Sassoon Road, The University of Hong Kong Wong & Cheng Consulting Engineers Ltd. Employed by The University of Hong Kong as the Registered Structural Engineer and the Registered Geotechnical Engineer to demolish the existing building and design a 7-stories academic building with 1-story basements. My responsibility is as follow: - Participated in the tender process, prepared the bill of quantities, specification, the scope of the works and tender drawings in the tender stage. - Prepared the demolition sequence and the structural appraisal report to justify the stability and structural adequacy of surrounding features and part of the remained building is stable during the demolition works. - Participated in the planning the scale of works, field test and laboratory test assignment of the ground investigation works - Carry out the kick-out stability, hydraulic failure checking and estimate the embedment depth of the pipe pile wall and soldier pile wall of the ELS system. - Analyzing the ELS system by the PLAXIS 2D FEM models to determine the structural capacity of the steel struts, the pipe pile wall and soldier pile wall. - Estimate the settlement of surrounding ground and features due to the excavation and groundwater drawdown by using PLAXIS and SEEP/w 2D models. - Carry out the reinforced concrete retaining wall design and slope stability analysis by using the Slope/W model. - Carry out the design of an external drainage system to collect the rainwater from the building to the government mains. - Acting as a Resident Engineer (Technical Competent Person – T3) for ELS and Site formation works; performing full time on-site supervision, daily safety inspections and inspect workmanship compliance to drawings and local legislation.
Project: Proposed Residential Redevelopment of No.86A-86D Pok Fu Lam Road, Hong Kong Wong & Cheng Consulting Engineers Ltd. Is appointed as the Registered Structural Engineer (RSE) and the Registered Geotechnical Engineer (RGE) for the project. Key responsibilities: - Provided Geotechnical Design Report for the Site Formation and the ELS for the foundation works. - Carried out the kick-out stability, hydraulic failure checking and estimate the embedment depth of the pipe pile wall of the ELS system. - Carried out the rock socket design and estimate the socket length of the bored pile wall. - Analyzing the PLAXIS 2D models to determine the structural capacity of the bored pile wall and the ELS system for foundation works. - Estimate the settlement of surrounding ground and features due to the excavation by using PLAXIS 2D models. - Carried out the stability checking and the RC design of the retaining wall. - Provided the slope stability analysis and slope upgrading works by using the Slope/W model. Project: Access Road for Columbarium and Garden of Remembrance at Tsang Tsui, Tuen Mum, Hong Kong Wong & Cheng Consulting Engineers Ltd. employed by The Architectural Services Department to provide Independent Checking Engineer (ICE) consultancy services to review the design from the structural engineer. Key responsibilities: - Assisted the Senior Engineer to review the design parameter assumption, design loading consideration in the SAP2000 model and the steel design for the link bridge. - Participated in review the design of abutment, retaining wall and drainage design of the access road. - Carried out on-site supervision once a week with an inspection report to monitoring site works and activities and ensure compliance with relevant method statements, project specifications, codes and standards, approved design drawings and project safety plans.
