- Developing innovative digital transformation concepts and products in Smart Grid environment using domain knowledge coupled with AI/ML and Big Data advancements - Leading the team for assessing Energy Startup environment in Germany and appointed for scanning and negotiating potentials of collaboration/co-creation with appropriate startup companies - Deep knowledge of European and German regulatory frameworks in the area of Renewable energy and electricity market through project run on Feed-in management policies in Germany - Working on ENSURE - New Energy Network Structures for Energiewende project. Project value: 10M€/year public funding and planned for 9 years (in 3 phases of 3 years) - Ensure Cluster 3: System control Identifying of the application fields for central, decentral and possibly also autonomous control elements. Programming and Energy Operation Department Analysis and Programs Division - Defines the criteria, procedures and guidelines for the short and medium operation process of the unavailability of the network elements and the production units - Ensures the planning and deliberates the unavailability with respect to the primary network and production units - Elaborates studies and perform security checks on the unavailability of the primary network - Ensures the conduction of analysis and processing of short and medium-term forecasts and safety adequacy of National Electric System with identification of potential emergency situations - Defines the essential plants for the safety of electrical system - Defines the exchange capacity with neighboring TSO - Preventive assess the risk of failure to cover the medium-term demand (2 years) by means of: The prediction of energy and national power and area, Monitoring of water availability and hydropower reserves and management of data, The exchange expected on the interconnection of Italy with foreign countries, The coordination of the maintenance of production and network systems, The determination of production margins, The management of the generators and structure safety net - Cooperates with the National Control Center in the definition of corrective actions and proposals of risk reduction (opinions for the Ministry of Economic Development, exercise facilities in derogation, estimates, etc.); - Carries out evaluations for the definition of the electrical structure of the market on the basis of Authority provisions, in particular, revision of market areas and transit limits between the zones; - Verifies and updates the Grid Code for issues related to programming of unavailability and other issues of competence.
Solutions and Consulting Department Network & Energy Market Analysis Division - Research and development of the DLR technique for Italian transmission system - Evaluates the proposed DLR technique by employing it for “maximizing power line capacity” – existing transmission connections are used in more efficient way, without actual grid reinforcements - Integration of the DLR technique in existing Energy Management Systems (EMSs) - Led the technical development of the Wide Area Measurement System (WAMS) for the Italian National Transmission Grid
