Milgro is the independent company that manages companies' waste and resources. At Milgro, I take initiative to reduce waste at companies in my portfolio, by setting up cases and implementing solutions that have a positive impact on environmental, economic and/or operational goals, for example CO2 emissions. Further tasks: - I lead a project to onboard additional companies into our ERP system, focusing on refurbishment, repair, and reuse. - Project-driven improvement of our quality of data in PowerBI. - Redaction of company blogs on zero waste.
At Stantec, I was responsible for policies and execution of waste and litter management: - Directing discussions on litter policy with municipalities, based on scientific analysis where possible - Finding common ground for writing litter policies - Planning events for litter pickers and volunteers.
At Stantec, I advised contractors on soil quality. This amounted to two main questions: a) is it physically safe and b) is it in compliance with Dutch law to dig at a given location? I had a great team to work with. Also, I was specialised in landfills - often tough cases in terms of soil quality.
I took a year off. Meanwhile I participated in: - a challenge for solutions to the Dutch energy transition (Urban Energy Challenge, Utrecht) - a challenge in circular economy (Blue City Circular Challenge, Rotterdam). Came in 3rd. - a challenge in building a startup (Venture Academy, Leiden). Won the Improver's prize.
At BotBoys, I acquired skills in the following three topics: - lean startup skills, based on the Y Combinator startup program: MVP, interviewing users, error-learning cycle, scalability - market research: getting users to talk with you and optimizing the quality of the interview - startup strategy: determining challenges facing the company, and acting upon them Results: - acquired valuable knowledge on how users used our products - CEO: "impressed with your learning curve"
