As a recent UC Berkeley Graduate, Mila received her BA in Public Health with a Minor in Clinical & Counseling Psychology in 2025. From the age of 15, Mila has known that she has wanted to work in the field of mental health and has worked as an intern at a therapy private practice throughout her high school years. Mila has aspirations of becoming a future Clinical Psychologist and is keenly interested in conducting culture-focused psychological research working with Asian and Asian-American populations. In her free time Mila enjoys drawing, playing tennis and exploring the Bay Area’s alternative music scene.
Monitor and Communicate with clients within a Residential Psychiatric Facility. Lead Recreational Rehabilitation Groups. Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Assist in Crisis Intervention and Behavioral Deescalation. Documentation of Behavioral Intervention Response Plans.
Research Assistant for the UCSF Stress and Resilience Lab (STAR Lab). Work on site and remote at the San Francisco Veteran Affairs Medical Center. Conduct phone interviews with veterans with PTSD to assess eligibility for a clinical drug trial of a sleep medication meant to aid insomnia symptoms in veterans with PTSD. Maintain accurate statistical medical records and enter data to Psychological Assessment forms and database. Conduct Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) testing to identify cognitive impairment and mild cognitive dysfunction.
Psychotherapy Skills Development: Gained hands-on experience in various therapeutic approaches, including the Common Factors and Motivational Interviewing techniques. Deliberate Practice: Applied the concept of deliberate practice to enhance and refine psychotherapy skills in a structured learning environment. Case Conceptualization & Formulation: Developed proficiency in creating case formulations and conceptualizing treatment plans for mock clients. Professional Development in Mental Health: Enhanced understanding of the mental health field through mentorship and professional interaction with experienced clinicians.
Worked on site with LMFTs and Clinical Psychologists. Was in charge of patient’s CMS-1500 forms that permitted clinicians to file health insurance claims to different government insurance plans for reimbursement.
Volunteered teaching the English subject and Cultural subject classes in San Francisco's Chinatown. Taught children aged 9-11 in creative writing, grammar, and Asian culture appreciation lessons.
