About

I currently work as a Research Scientist in CMC Injectable Formulation & Process at Novo Nordisk. We do formulation and process development in clinical phase 1-3, and link research with pilot plants and later commercial (product supply). Prior to this, I traveled the world with my wife as backpackers on the road. Hence, the gap between the PhD degree and starting at Novo Nordisk. I have a PhD in organic chemistry from the group of Assoc. Prof. Luca Laraia at DTU. I was responsible for multiple diverse projects with light as an external stimulus to trigger or control events in its focus. I developed molecular photoswitches, semi-automated photochemical screening platforms and fabricated electro- and photochemical flow reactors by 3D printing as my main areas of research. Additionally, I have previous work experience from Novo Nordisk as a chemist in Diabetes Finished Products ensuring an aseptic production environment. Prior to this I worked in process support for the purification of Human Insulin in sections with modifications and HPLC purification. I know how to work according to the LEAN-GMP principles and have extensive experience with systematic problem solving, change requests and optimisations. I spent 6 months working as a research assistant on CNS research by synthesising neuroactive ligands for the iGluRs, which involved a significant amount of chiral purification. The work was performed in the group of Prof. Lennart Bunch at KU. I have a double MSc in medicinal chemistry from UCPH and VU Amsterdam. Through this, I obtained skills and knowledge in drug discovery. My international experience includes living and working in Australia, Peru, and the Netherlands.
