As the Head of Automation for the EUROGATE Group, I was responsible for developing and executing the terminal automation strategy across the group's operations in Germany. With over 20 years of experience in the container terminal industry, I have a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this dynamic and complex sector. I am passionate about leading change and innovation, creating value for our customers and stakeholders, and empowering our people and teams. I have successfully spearheaded several major investment, infrastructure, and process improvement projects, including the first terminal automation implementation in the EUROGATE Group, with a planned investment of several hundred million Euros over a time period of 3-5 years. I have also negotiated and implemented significant savings and efficiency programs, as well as established collaborative and constructive relationships with unions, works councils, and other partners.
• Daily management of the joint operation of two of three container terminals in Bremerhaven, responsible for EUR +220 million in annual revenues (2021) and approximately 1,000 staff. • Successfully spearheaded the negotiation and implementation of a EUR +40 million annual savings program. • Development of an infrastructure masterplan to ensure efficient and goal-oriented development of the Bremerhaven facilities, hereunder preparations for terminal automation. • Overall responsible for a major investment plan, including the development of a new EUR +50 million on-site rail facility. • Implementation of various process improvement initiatives with high focus on industry standards and inter-company collaboration.
Responsible for Operations, IT and Technical. The Terminal will go live in August 2012 initially with 8 quay cranes and 1000 m quay. Fully build up in 2013/4, the terminal will have a capacity of 2.9mill TEU.
Lead and overall responsibility for the dedicated team at EUROGATE, which is developing the company's semi-automated terminal of the future based on the straddle carrier technology.
• General management and bottom-line responsible for a joint-venture company with revenues of more than EUR 70 million (2022) and approximately 500 staff. • Direct reporting line to the Chairman of the Board. • Planning and execution of major investment programs. • Responsible for the first terminal-automation implementation in the EUROGATE Group, starting in 2023. An investment of several hundred million Euros over a timeperiod of 3-5 years. • Extensive negotiating experience both with unions and works councils incl. negotiation and implementation of the first tariff agreements for both white- and blue collar workers. • Commitment to work safety with zero fatalities in the 10+ years of responsibility. • Established a vision statement and implemented company values for a better understanding of common goals. • Leading and development of talent with a proven track record.
• Overall responsibility for the terminal automation strategy in the EUROGATE group. • Development of a masterplan for terminal automation in the German terminals as well as in the supporting functions Technical Services and IT. • Responsible for the first specific automation project in the terminal in Wilhelmshaven.
