I servd as the Section Manager for Milhouse's gas distribution team. I worked with and mentored client managers, projected revenue for each client, projected and fulfilled staffing needs, and drove team initiatives. I reviewed projects and worked with client teams to ensure quality and adherence to all federal codes and client standards. I reviewed and provided design recommendations, I verified testing requirements and calculations, and monitored project schedules to drive on-time delivery.
I served as the engineer of record for project designs for a specific client. I reviewed projects for quality, schedules, and budgets for 50+ simultaneous active projects as well as maintained client relations. I checked strength and leak testing calculations, ensured basemap of utilities and roadway was accurate, conducted regulator sizing calculations to ensure gas demand can be met, and recommended design options to improve the system. I monitor staffing needs of team and conduct interviews and hiring. I worked with team members to enable continuous improvement through one-on-one meetings and bi-annual performance reviews. Addressed performance issues within team as needed.
I reviewed the design of all DOT relocations, natural gas system improvement/replacements, regulator station replacements, and new business projects to ensure the design met federal and client standards. I checked testing calculations, confirmed proper use of fittings, and the accuracy of the utility and ROW corridor basemap
Worked in a lab testing the hardness of metal transmission parts that are hardened using a heat treatment process. Once the parts passed all tests, they were tagged, and cleared to move on to transmission assembly. Parts that failed the lab tests were put on hold and a new re-treatment process was determined.
Completed sidewalk inspections, erosion/sediment control inspections, and inspection of the City’s storm water management system. Became familiar with many aspects of construction and design such as the bidding process, collaborating with contractors, reviewing preliminary design drawings, construction oversight, and project estimation. Worked on a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for a recently built public works building.
