Over the past months I've come to appreciate recruiters. I will never dis a recruiter, because you are my family's lifeblood. Thank you. I'm currently employed as a senior Linux Administrator. I have spent most of my entire life as a Linux and/or Solaris UNIX System Administrator. I love to understand the nuts and bolts of systems and components, and to figure out why they are designed the way they are (yes, I took apart clocks when I was a kid). I also really like automating, and I have programmed in Bash, Python, Java, C++, and Perl (plus a bit of TCL, Ruby, other stuff too). I consider myself a decent programmer, which is very handy for a systems administrator!
Going to DV Trading.
I do Linux, and Windows and even some Networking too! Woo-hoo, I do it all! Fun!
Linux Systems Administration and Network equipment administration, focus on IOS and NXOS-based devices. NOW I've started working at Mocho. I requested a waiver of some of the non-compete provisions from my former employer in order to perform Network administration, which is fascinating... delving into the world of routers, switches, ports and packets. This is something I've often seen from the sidelines, but now I get to execute on it myself! Very cool, and I appreciate the opportunity to add this kind of work to my stable of experience! I am finding out how exciting it is to learn a whole new technical discipline...! The Linux part I will begin in October, at the end of my non-compete period.
Late night TV, Mr. Mom, swimming, surfing the Web, videos on Wimp.com, stuff like that. ...What people do when they're between gigs due to a non-compete agreement. Oh, and I'm working on my CCNA, but I don't think I'll take the test.
