I have structured my career from undertaking the delivery and design in different sectors of construction ranging from prisons, education through to rail projects. I've now gained 30 years' experience in design and build of multi-disciplinary schemes, along with a strong focus on lessons learnt and innovation with new products and systems. I'm now seeking to improve the management of the design, its programme and change throughout the design process through to implementation. I still enjoy continuing to learn more from different disciplines and associated organisations in order to understand how their requirements can be incorporated as a benefit. I also encourage mentorship from colleagues to share my experience and improve their foresight within different challenges.
EIS & Safety Validation
Development of new Coventry Station Bay Platform scheme & Very Light Rail project.
Train lengthening contract to enable longer trains to stop at existing stations across the Merseyrail network. Management from Grip 3 through to handback of 61 platform alterations involving civils, pway, signalling, M&E, telecoms and 3rd rail.
Site based Project Manager for Stadler co-located with BAM Nuttall to build a new depot facility for the new fleet of trains to run in Merseyside for the next 35 years. Key point of contact for coordination of the design and depot build between all 5 contracts for the design, build and maintenance of the fleet.
Managing and expanding a small M&E design company across a broad spectrum of capabilities for recently joined a small M&E design company based near Stafford. We undertake a broad range of designs of the following: lighting (both external & internal) for domestic and industrial, HV / LV supplies including DNOs, earthing & bonding, lightning protection, rail infrastructure power supplies – signalling, track and points heating.
