HMS BROCKLESBY, Head of Warfare Department / Operations Officer 2006 - 2009 Led a department of 30 senior technicians and junior rates to provide 24/7 availability of the Tactical Weapon System, Communications and functional capability of a Hunt Class Warship in support of the UK Strategic Deterrent. • As a Duty Officer and Captain’s representative regularly took primary responsibility for the safety, security and operation of a £60M Warship, her safety and the welfare of her 46 personnel. • Directed and coordinated the response to emergency situations when in harbour and acted as Command Advisor in emergency situations when at sea. • Provided detailed and precise analysis to the Command in an extremely fast paced, secret and time sensitive environment at sea on operations. • Responsible for the management, maintenance and effective utilisation of all Tactical Weapon, Communication and IT systems and the training and welfare of the personnel within the warfare and diving departments. • Subject Matter Expert for all Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and diving operations, regularly led the diving team on exercises and live operations disposing of numerous pieces of live ordnance. • Modified department by dual training staff, increasing output whilst reducing workforce by 30%.
