Java backend work on the data observability platform and its authorization systems.
Backend work building Java + gRPC services in Kubernetes that support our products for artists, record labels, and music licensors.
Full-stack work on both the Ruby on Rails backend and the React / AngularJS frontends of our data science platform. Building things out in Kubernetes, including some services in Python and Go. Mentoring junior engineers, and advising other teams on design decisions. Highlight: Built a system for users to compose automated workflows of their data science jobs with a graph UI. Integrated our platform with the OpenStack Mistral workflow engine, and open-sourced our Mistral API client. It quickly became one of the most popular features of our platform. Highlight: Stabilized and scaled our compute infrastructure, which was under extreme load from clients. Triaged issues and reinforced systems to smoothly handle 5X as much load as before, securing future contract renewals.
Backend work on some of our Java + Spring Boot services, which use SQL and Cassandra databases. Mentored 2 interns. Highlight: Launched the new menus platform, allowing thousands of restaurants to edit their menus, reducing data entry costs by $1M per year and enabling integrations with chain restaurants.
