In acute care, I worked with a wide range of patients in an academic medical center, from acute elective and traumatic orthopedics, status post cardiovascular surgery, stroke and other acute neurological injuries, to the general population of medical and geriatric patients. I worked closely with a large, diverse interdisciplinary team in determining expedient and appropriate discharge plans and post-acute rehabilitation. In our outpatient clinic, I often followed in the continuum of care with patients I initially evaluated in the acute setting, as well as working with patients referred from multiple clinics for custom orthotics and a wide variety of orthopedic, neurologic, cardiovascular, and other conditions.
