The Executive Director of Operations and Strategy provides technology-related vision and leadership for the development, implementation, support and management of application and computer technologies in the support of business improvement, profitable growth, and competitive advantage for the health system as well as each region. Incumbent will support the needs of the business by providing effective application support, administration and vendor management for all applications. S/he will work with senior leadership at the corporate office as well as the leadership within each region to set the IT strategy and vision and ensure that it is in line with the regional and corporate system strategies. Leads people to accomplish complex, large scale, high risk technical systems projects. Organizes, plans and executes business and technical changes to create innovative systems solutions or to minimize system impact. Develops and delivers a strong process and technology vision with the ability to build consensus with executives and across the organization. Specifically this position will report to the CIO and manage the hospital based Information Technology teams at each facility, as well as managing centralized application and end user support teams. This position will provide much needed leadership in the operations and application maturity and will provide succession planning for IT senior leadership. Incumbent shall provide oversight of the following IT Contract Management functions (various: including formal, short form, and annual contracts)—Drafting, Evaluation, Negotiation and Execution of Licensing Agreements, Master Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Consulting Agreements, review of proposed terms and conditions; Managed services Agreements (IT as a service provided to joint-ventures or other revenue models such as hosting).
As a member of BHS’s Support Services, this position is responsible for providing visionary and strategic leadership that ensures the investment in "information" plays a vital role in achieving BHS's business objectives. Provides proactive direction to senior management and users in anticipating the information needs of all entities of the organization on both a short term and long term basis. Maximizes the return on investment in addressing those needs most important to the success of BHS. Through effective leadership, communication, and motivation, ensures that customers (patients, physicians, etc.) and users view the service provided by Hospital Information Services as high quality and very responsive. Enhances BHS's healthcare market position by the cost effective and successful acquisition and implementation of systems technologies. Applies technology and uses information to help realize Baptist Healthcare System's Vision and Mission in achieving the established strategic initiatives.
