I was responsible for hydro optimization and trading in the day-ahead market and reserve markets. I also participated in varying development projects concerning changes of power markets and hydro dispatching systems. I also played a role in developing of hydro bidding strategies.
My responsibility was in managing UPM Finland’s electricity balance by using different market platforms. Moreover, I re-scheduled and operated hydropower in real-time. In addition, I had responsibilities in development projects related to UPM control room and hydropower optimization.
Main responsibility was managing of UPM Finland’s electricity balance by using different market platforms and by operating hydropower. Handling such a big electricity production and consumption have taught me quick decision making under pressure based on different information on markets.
Summer job. I worked in electrical maintenance team in a mill. One of the main tasks was solving electricity failures. I also did different types of electrical connections such as joining electric motors and pulling and joining new electric cables. Moreover, I participated in yearly maintenance work of electrical loads and steam boiler. I worked with experienced electric fitters and I got knowledge about how different types of electrical loads behave in an industrial environment.
