Hier worden de eigen collecties van Nederlandse en Vlaamse musea besproken, hun geschiedenis en presentatie met tekst, foto's en vlogs. Freelance auteur en spreker. Ik was tot september 2015 de eerste conservator van Escher in Het Paleis, het "M.C.Escher museum in Den Haag. Ik ben gespecialiseerd in kunstverzamelingen zowel als adviseur bij Bouwfonds Kunststichting, ls ook auteur van catalogi, als ook criticus van het Financieele Dagblad waar ik als eerste over bedrijfscollecties schreef. Art historian and a professional writer about visual arts. I used to be an art critic, I wrote for several Dutch papers NRC Handelsblad; Financieele Dagblad, Haagse Post; ArtForum, museums and individual artists. I worked for Dutch radio VPRO and VARA and produced television newsprogrammes VARA. I made management programmes about creativity and management for the Academy of Management Universiteit Groningen.

Mei 2025 Inmiddels hebben @KristoffelLieten en ik samen M.C.Escher Anders Bekeken gemaakt. Het is uitgegeven bij @Unieboek/Spectrum, zie ook elders op deze pagina. Een boek voor leken en kenners over het werk van M.C. Escher, zowel zijn prenten, als ook werk in situ. We geven korte en lange lezingen over leven en werk van M.C. Escher. Niets is leuker dan over leven en werk van M.C. Escher te vertellen. Zo verrassend als zijn werk is, zo goed kan ik in een lezing uitleggen waarom out of the box denken u verder brengt dan u vermoedde. I was since the beginning of Escher in Het Paleis, the M.C. Escher Museum in The Hague, (Holland) the curator. http://www.escherinhetpaleis.nl/ During the years I have made some major discoveries in and about the work of M.C. Escher which resulted in exhibitions: 1. Escher forever, Eternity and Infinity are in one way or the other the main axes on which the work of M.C.Escher is build:2009 2. A Sense of Wonder the influence of Escher's secondary school building in Arnhem (Holland) on works like Other World; 1946, Up and Down; House of Stairs; Relativity; and some related works: 2014 A new film, made together with Studio Gerrit Schreurs, about life and work of M.C. Escher (20minutes) is a result of this show. I cooperated with the Escher show in the Bunkamara exhibition space in Tokyo, Japan, 2006; the famous Escher show in Brazil 2011, I was asked to write for both very nice catalogues. In 2015 I participated in the exhibition and catalogue of The Amazing World of M.C. Escher, in The National Galleries of Scotland Modern 2 in Edinburgh (June - September 2015) and Dulwich Gallery, London, (Oct 2015 - January 2016) and Max Ernst Museum, Brühl Cologne, (Feb - May 2016) In exhibition in The Hague shows the exiting world of M.C.Escher. In 2015 more than 140.000 visitors came to see his work in the former royal palace. M.C. Escher uses optical illusion, tessellation, cycles,methamorphosis and some very strange perspectives to give us an impression of an other world in which so much more is possible.
I advised the organisation on the development of their collection. I bought for them quiet an extensive group of art works. I conceived the idea of the exhibition Room with a view in het Gemeentemuseum Den Haag in 2006,http://www.gemeentemuseum.nl/tentoonstellingen/room-with-a-view and I made two exhibitions with woodcuts and lithographs from the Bouwfonds Kunstcollectie at Escher in Het Paleis. I had the idea of Wahverwandschaft, an exhibition of the Bouwfonds Collection in combination with the collection of Museum Belvedere in Heerenveen, (NL) in 2009.
