AUGUST 2013 – OCTOBER 2021 TERRITORY SALES MANAGER – SAM ALLEN WHOLESALE • Managed the sales region from the Brisbane River, north to Cairns, including the Northern Territory. Calling on Retail, Service Agents, OEM and large chain stores. • Lived in Victoria for 3 years building the SAW brand to existing and new cliental. This Territory included Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory. • Organised and attended The Sydney and Sanctuary Cove International Boat Shows. This included bookings, stand layout, organising displays & product range, logistics, staffing and accommodation. • Managed strong communication skills with Management and customers through email, phone and face to face meetings. • Assisted OEMs in new product implementation, building BOM kits to streamline supply and had direct assistance with the end user on the fitting out their new vessel. • Maintained ongoing data, ensuring our product range was competitively priced against the opposition. JULY 1998 – AUGUST 2013 TECHNICAL WRITER - BLA • From approximately 1998 - 2013 I worked at BLA with a 2-year gap in the middle, which I spent working retail in the marine industry. • I spent the majority of the time in Marketing, being the Technical writer on 3 catalogues, writing newsletters, new product release sheets and creating the BLA customer catalogue that was sent out Easter, Father’s Day and Christmas. • Other positions included. • Humminbird & Minn Kota Product Manager • Service - Technical phone calls with customers and end users, repairing Minn Kota motors, processing warranties and booking in & processing service jobs. • Boat Show Co-Ordinator - Booking of shows. Stand lay out. Product range. Staffing roster. Uniform roster. Logistics for displays. These shows included Sydney, Sanctuary Cove, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide & Perth
Worked as a qualified car mechanic before moving into the marine/tackle sector. Worked for 15 years at Bob Littler Agencies in the roles of Technical Writer, Boat Show Co-Ordinator and Sales Representative. Worked at Sam Allen Wholesale 8 years, primarily as Sales Representative, whilst also coordinating Boat Shows. Currently working for myself as a commission based sales representative in the marine, fishing and outdoor industries, covering from Port Stephens in NSW to Port Douglas in Queensland for Hook'Em Tackle, Catch Fishing and Tasline.
