Hello! I’m Michelle (she/they), a Ballroom Dance Instructor at Fred Astaire Dance Studios - San Mateo and former Policy Fellow at the National Health Law Program. I started training in competitive ballroom and latin dance at the age of 4, and since then, I have won 8 national titles, made 4 world championship finals, and represented the United States multiple times in international competitions. Now, I continue dancing competitively with my husband and dance partner in the Amateur Ballroom category, and we are currently ranked second in the United States. With this experience, I love to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for ballroom dance through teaching students of all ages and levels and coaching them to achieve their individual dance goals. For more details on my dance career, see our Instagram page: @bohdan.michelle In 2022, I graduated from UC Berkeley with my Bachelor’s in Public Health. Through my past work experience, internships, and coursework, I have developed a strong passion and skillset for health policy, community health, health advocacy, and health education. I am particularly interested in the topics of Medicaid, sexual & reproductive health, immigrant health, health equity, and social drivers of health.
