Primary Medical Advisor to Installation Commander for public health emergencies. Directs public health emergency declaration and ensures safety of base residents and employees as well as medical beneficiaries during public health emergencies. During current COVID-19 pandemic, continuously informed top leadership, medical group and installation on most up-to-date information through several forums including executive and professional staff meetings, townhalls, and publications. Recommendations based on information gathering and trends. Directed medical operations for testing, vaccination, treatment and medical care for Antelope Valley catchment area. Formulated installation policy for mitigation, isolation/quarantine procedures and vaccination mandates among others. Case managed all positive cases and primary physician for testing operations. Minimized impact of pandemic to mission operations. Trained in disaster and emergency management through FEMA courses and DoD Public Health Emergency Management courses.
Chief Occupational Medicine advisor to 81 tenant units supporting 14,000 workers at the US Air Forces’ premier Aerospace Test Center. Executive for physical standards, health promotion, disability evaluation, environmental health, employee health, and public health. Manages team of industrial hygienists, occupational health staff and safety specialists to ensure installation compliant with OSHA and other regulations. Ensures medical quality of CAOHC-certified hearing conservation program. Medical advisor for environmental safety specialists for base residents’ environmental and water safety. Performs pre-placement, fitness for duty, medical standards and medical surveillance exams.
Managed 35 staff and 12 military medical standard programs, including aerospace medicine. Led medical mission readiness initiatives for the installation, including military reserve units. Mentored new providers and staff on aviation and medical standard exams and disability evaluations.
