Editors, agents and publishers who have worked with me in the past often contact me to pinch-hit for another writer who is unable to finish an assignment for whatever reason. Growing up in the industry as a reporter for a daily newspaper and later as a stringer for the Associated Press, I know how to get the best story, and I am able to write concisely under tight deadlines. I love what I do, and I specialize in several different genres: non-fiction articles and books for children and adults, as well as fiction books for children. I also enjoy ghostwriting for celebrities, famous athletes, ministers, and business professionals. It's my greatest honor to help others communicate their messages. Not only have I helped pen a New York Times Bestseller non-fiction book for women, but also, I have ghostwritten several bestselling children's picture books. Speaking of children's books, I recently sold my 70th children's book to a mainstream publisher, and I just won the ECPA Gold Medallion for Best Children's Book for "Our God is Bigger Than That!" (End Game Press). I also take joy in teaching at writers' conferences and universities around the nation, helping others realize their dreams of publication. I've taught at more than 100 writing events over the years, and I've served as an adjunct professor, teaching "Writing for Children'" as part of Taylor University's Professional Writing Program. In my role with End Game Press and Wren & Bear Books, I edit all of our children's titles and act as our art director so that our board books and picture books will continue to win awards and make an impact in this world. I am an award-winning freelance journalist, best-selling author, and experienced ghostwriter. I have written more than 1,000 articles for magazines, newspapers, and websites; and I've penned 82 published books nearing 4 million in book sales, including ghostwriting a New York Times bestseller. I'm currently celebrating the release of my latest book for women, "Love & Care For The One And Only You" (Worthy Inspired) which won the Gold Illumination Award for best devotional in 2016 and was a Christian Retailing Best Award Finalist. My 2015 release, "When Chocolate Isn't Enough: An Inspirational Survival Guide for Moms" (Worthy Inspired) was also named the Gold Illumination Award winner for best devotional. In addition, my book "Happy Birthday to You!" won the Selah Award for Best Children’s Book in 2017—my third Selah for Best Children’s Book since 2012. In fact, in 2014 my board book "God Knows You" not only won the Selah for Best Children’s Book but also won the esteemed Book of the Year honor over all other Selah winners. I am also an inspirational speaker and teacher for many women's events and writers’ conferences. In all, I've keynoted and taught at more than 100 conferences, including: Write-to-Publish, the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators All-Star Conference, the Florida Christian Writers Conference, the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference, and the First Weekend Getaway with Todd Starnes of Fox News, to name a few. I've also served as an adjunct professor in the Professional Writing program at Taylor University twice, and I'll be teaching again Spring Semester 2018.
