As the Policy and Engagement Manager at the Carbon Leadership Forum Michelle leads projects and activities that advance action and awareness around policies targeting embodied carbon. In this role, she drives research, technical guidance and collaboration in support of CLF's mission to eliminate embodied carbon in buildings, materials, and infrastructure to create a just and thriving future.
Lambert Sustainability is an innovative sustainable design consulting, research and education firm based in the Boston area. The firm works in a highly collaborative process with the client, community, design, and construction teams to define and then meet the project’s vision and goals for sustainability. We provide full process facilitation and project management services for projects pursuing a range of sustainability goals, green building metrics and rating systems. Michelle Lambert is the Founding Principal of Lambert Sustainability. For the last 22 years, she has built an expertise in sustainable design in both practice and teaching. With an education and experience in architecture and planning, she led the sustainability efforts at several of Boston’s largest architecture and design firms prior to starting her own firm. Michelle has worked on over 45 LEED and sustainable design projects varying widely in building type, rating system and certification level. She is also a Certified Passive House Consultant and an Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP). In addition, as both a professional and academic educator, a former US Green Building Council Faculty Member, and an Envision trainer, she brings a unique ability to communicate the concepts and strategies of sustainability in order to provide ongoing education to her project teams, ensuring a more integrated and efficient process. She has taught numerous green building and sustainability courses over the years to practicing professionals and has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Carnegie Mellon, The Boston Architectural College and Tufts University. Project Manager for sustainability and green building projects, primarily working with the LEED Rating System. LEED project manager and process facilitator for the Ahold LEED Volume program (owner of Stop&Shop and Giant Food Stores) which certifies every new store built. Also provided LEED and green building services on airport projects, hotels and other building types. VHB Green Team Leader- I lead the company's internal grassroots effort for employees to engage with sustainability issues company-wide and act as change agents to integrate sustainability into VHB's culture. ISI Envision Verifier and ISI Envision Trainer - I am certified as a Project Verifier for the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) Envision Rating System. I am also certified as an ISI Trainer to teach trainings on Envision.
