I have more than 25 years of experience in healthcare administration and operations in hospital, outpatient clinic, ambulatory surgery center, and academic medical institution settings. I deliver leadership in operations, contracting, marketing, business development, auditing, and regulatory compliance.
●I lead all aspects of the Institute including financial management, clinical research and research administration, establishing the vision, and strategic direction, for children and their families. ●I collaborate with hospital leadership and physician colleagues for the development of the Strategic Plan to achieve integrated programmatic goals, including for marketing, business development, practice management, research coordination, and program quality and safety initiatives. ●I implement planning, operating, and accountability systems that ensure the continuing growth and success of both Institutes. ●I collaborate with Institute physician leader and other physician members to ensure alignment between the clinical and academic missions of the programs. ●I develop Strategic Plan related to provision of mental health services and development of Behavioral Health Center of Excellence.
●I collaborated with the Service Line Medical Director and Service Line Nursing Director to support the mission and vision of the institution. ●I facilitated quality, patient and family-centered care, outcomes including patient satisfaction, balanced scorecard performance and conformance with professional practices, accreditation, regulations, and institutional policy. ●I developed business and strategic growth of the Service Line, operations, personnel management, budget development, revenue cycle and fiscal management, and serve as the primary liaison to centralized campus functions. ●I improved provider relationships and ensured all provider activities, including patient schedules, operations, patient volumes and other activities are maximized. ●I supported evidence-informed practices and ensure adequate and efficient use of resources. ●I ensured that clinical operations including clinical research operations and clinical education were efficient, integrated and highly oriented to providing a positive patient experience. ●I enhanced relationships with all stakeholders, especially employees.
●I oversaw comprehensive physician management systems. This included the establishment, coordination and application of both physician services and technical services fee schedules. ●I designed long range plans and strategies, and prepared financial forecasts and continuous fiscal analyses requiring awareness of national health care, medical specialty trends, policies and issues. ●I administered department and intra department operating budgets including revenue management from educational sources, research grants, physician service contracts, health services delivery agreements and physician professional fee and technical revenues. ●I provided consultation and assistance to faculty in preparation of new service programs and initiatives, administratively participated in the development and implementation of such programs. ●I collaborated in preparation of proposals pertaining to grants, contracts, education, and health care services. ●I researched new opportunities and new resources to improve or extend department programs.
●I maintained a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the Neuroscience Service Line (NSL) and thorough understanding of all the contributions of all involved departments to the NSL. This includes understanding physician involvement in both the Outpatient (OP) and Inpatient (IP) settings and OP/IP clinical involvement with the NSL. ●I prepared presentation and discussion of decision items to be considered by the NSL Executive Committee. ●I coordinated all marketing and recruitment related to the NSL. Collaboratively worked with specified departments and other areas related to the NSL. ●I made complex decisions which impacted the daily operations while considering both short and long-term strategic planning issues. Included a high degree of interaction with other UAMS personnel, including UAMS leadership and COM leadership, and outside organizations.
●I managed division that includes 32 faculty members, 5 CRNAs, 14 anesthesia technicians, 8 admin support staff, 4 fellows, 6 residents, 2 SRNAs, and 4 AA students. ●I monitored daily aspects of business operations including budgeting, accounting, human resources, and project management. ●I prepared presentations and reports as needed for department use including the Annual Report. ●I oversaw content for division and fellowship website.
●I supervised and led a successful pain management practice in the Little Rock area. ●I created physician staffing schedule for up to six facilities, including two hospitals, and four surgery centers. ●I maintained Quality Assurance files and oversaw monthly QA reviews. ●I managed the day-to-day operations, including oversight of the pain management clinic and anesthesia staffing. ●I ensured all credentialing was current and complete for providers. ●I negotiated all insurance and facility contracts.
